Popped.
Munster captain Peter O’Mahony could be a doubt for the southern province’s final pool game against Exeter Chiefs at Thomond Park on Saturday.
The back-row forward was forced off late in the second-half of Munster’s 41-14 bonus-point win over Gloucester last night with a rib injury and looked to be in some discomfort.
Speaking after the game, Munster head Johann van Graan confirmed that O’Mahony had popped a rib in the bruising encounter.
“He’s in a bit of pain,” said van Graan.
“It looks like a rib.
“We’ll obviously have to take our time with it and re-assess on Monday. Sometimes it heals quickly and other times not, so I’ve got no update but it’s definitely a popped rib.”
Hopefully O’Mahony pulls through as the province will need their talisman next weekend.
