Brian O’Driscoll picks his 33-man Ireland World Cup squad

BOD has spoken.

Former Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll has gone and picked his 33-man Ireland squad for the Rugby World Cup ahead of Andy Farrell’s announcement at the end of the month.

O’Drisoll posted his full squad on Instagram this morning with a split of 18 forwards and 15 backs that includes the likes of Tom O’Toole, Dave Kilcoyne, Joe McCarthy, and Stuart McCloskey.

There’s only one position O’Driscoll is stuck on, with the former centre unable to decide on whether or not to bring Keith Earls or Jacob Stockdale as his final back.

“Just not quite sure on the call between Stockdale & Earls,” O’Driscoll wrote.

“From one pre-season outing, it’s advantage Stockdale, but Earlsy brings a huge amount to the squad in terms of leadership, calmness, vast experience at RWC’s & as a utility player covering 3/4 positions. Hmmm…”
