Breathing down their necks.
Ireland’s win over the All Blacks in Dublin last night is set to give them a huge boost when the updated World Rugby Rankings are released on Monday afternoon.
The 16-9 win at the Aviva is set to hand Joe Schmidt’s men a 1.05 points boost, with New Zealand set to lose 1.04 points, meaning Ireland will be closer to the world champions than they’ve ever been before.
The men in green are literally breathing down the necks of the All Blacks, and could very well overtake them if they have another good Six Nations campaign next year.
Whether or not Ireland do overtake New Zealand – they’ve definitely proved they deserve their seat at the top table.
