Ben Ryan, the man who masterminded Fiji’s triumph in Rio has been rewarded with two wonderful gifts from the nation.
Ryan’s exploits led to him being awarded the Companion of the Order of Fiji, which is the highest honour given by the Fijian state. But it didn’t end there.
The people from the Serua province went one step further by awarding Ryan with three acres of land on the south of the Viti Levu island on the Pacific coast and he was given the name of Ratu Peni Raiyani Latianara in a ceremony.
Ryan has been living in Fiji for the past three years since taking up his coaching role.
