Cheeky.
The caterpillar ruck is one not exactly popular in rugby with many fans calling for it to be removed from the game for obvious reasons.
In the Premiership, it’s particularly prominent and it leads to some pretty frustrating scenes and just slows down the game. It’s horrible to watch, simple as.
But if you’re so used to getting away with it, it can lead to laziness, and if you’re playing against someone like Sharks and Springboks lock, Eben Etzebeth – you’re gonna get punished.
And that was exactly the case in Harlequins vs Sharks in the Champions Cup this afternoon with the towering lock using his full knowledge of the game, spotting Joe Marler wasn’t bound and the ball was out, to score a cheeky try!
Great thinking/reactions by Etzebeth #HARvSHA – onside for me. Clearly a strategy by Sharks pic.twitter.com/e6hthY8hhx

So smart from Etzebeth, Marler clearly wasn’t bound as his shoulder came away from the backside of the player in front so the ball was out, decent wheels to finish too! @ChampionsCup #HARvSHA
