Munster’s Champions Cup qualification hopes were dealt a massive blow following their loss to Connacht the weekend.
The southern province now head into their final two games against the Scarlets and Edinburgh knowing that they must win both games to ensure they obtain a spot in next season’s competition.
Should they not obtain a top six finish, it will be Challenge Cup rugby at Thomond Park next season, not Champions Cup. Connacht are no strangers to the Challenge Cup and the huge difference it brings having had to endure freezing conditions against Enisei-STM in Siberia in this year’s tournament.
Brian O’Driscoll alluded to this in a cheeky little tweet, following the game.
Anyone know what Bucharest is like in December?!
