Wales have suffered a dramatic late injury blow ahead of their clash with Australia at the Principality Stadium.
Lions centre Jonathan Davies has been ruled out of Rob Howley’s team for today’s autumn opener against Australia, with Scott Williams taking over at outside centre.
Davies misses this afternoon’s Principality Stadium showdown with the Wallabies due to a tight hamstring.
Fellow Scarlet Williams comes into the side at No 13 with no change on the bench, as he wasn’t among the replacements, where Hallam Amos is covering the outside backs. Williams will now link up with Jamie Roberts who starts at 12.
Williams normally plays at inside centre and has done so this season at the Scarlets. with Davies outside him but does have some experience at outside 13 with Wales.
Wales: Leigh Halfpenny; Alex Cuthbert, Scott Williams, Jamie Roberts, George North; Dan Biggar, Rhys Webb; Gethin Jenkins (capt), Ken Owens, Samson Lee, Luke Charteris, Bradley Davies, Dan Lydiate, Ross Moriarty, Justin Tipuric,
Replacements: Scott Baldwin, Nicky Smith, Tomas Francis, Cory Hill, James King, Gareth Davies, Sam Davies, Hallam Amos.
