Down and out.
England’s horrible fun of form and luck continued yesterday as they suffered their fifth (sixth including Barbarians) successive defeat as they fell to the Springboks in Bloemfontein.
Eddie Jones’ men just can’t buy a win at the moment after losing to Scotland, France, Ireland, Barbarians, South Africa (2) in recent months. And despite what Jones says – they’re in real trouble.
Their run of form means they will drop to fifth in the world when the World Rankings are released on Monday, having been 2nd at the beginning of the year. And to make matters even worse – Billy Vunipola if after picking up yet another serious injury, having only recently return to action with England.
Despite their two losses in recent weeks, Vunipola has been a shining light, as he always is – when he’s fit. But he couldn’t even make it to half-time yesterday, with England revealing he has fractured his arm – AGAIN.
He picked up a similar injury back in January and didn’t return until late April. Is there a more injury-prone man in rugby (besides Manu Tuilagi!). All the best in your recovery Billy, hopefully you’ll star getting some better luck.
