Well then…
Wallabies scrumhalf Nick Phipps has been suspended as Waratahs club captain and fined $4000 after he urinated on a bar, while dressed as a cow, in a Sydney bar last Saturday night while on his stag party.
Phipps and a group including Waratahs and Australian captain Michael Hooper were in the hotel after a long day celebrating the 29-year-old’s impending marriage.
After walking up to the bar and urinating on the front, an apologetic Phipps was removed without further incident and put in a taxi by his friends, Fairfax Media was told. The group continued the celebrations without him.
It is understood he called publican Ben Lawler to apologise in the days following. The 61-Test Wallaby has labelled himself a “bloody idiot” and a “goose”, but will be free to play this weekend against the Blues.
Waratahs chief executive Andrew Hore said Phipps’ $4000 fine would be donated to the NSW Positive Rugby Foundation “to support community rugby activities”.
