Montpellier have announced the capture of Australian star, Joe Tomane on their website.
Tomane will link once more with former Brumbies coach Jake White, who now leads Montpellier. The 17-Test Wallaby and former NRL star was one of the Brumbies’ best performers of 2016 before suffering a knee injury in April.
Tomane, who has scored six tries from eight games this season, missed the Wallabies’ 3-0 series loss to England and will be monitored this week for a possible return against Auckland’s Blues.
Interestingly Fox News have stated that that neither the ARU or Brumbies have yet to formally declare Tomane will leave for France, they did not however contradict Montpellier’s statement.
Tomane joins a long list of Australian stars heading to Europe this year, including Matt Toomua and Kurtley Beale.
