These boys mean business.
Bristol have enjoyed a perfect start to their Championship season under new head coach Pat Lam, largely thanks to their impressive dealings in the transfer market.
They brought in the likes of All Black Steven Luatua and Ireland international Ian Madigan over the summer and have already secured the services of Charles Piutau ahead of next season on a bumper £1 million-a-season deal.
Now it appears Lam has set his sights on England duo Nick Abendanon and David Strettle, with both of them out of contract with French champions Clermont at the end of the season.
The French giants however, have got wind of Bristol’s interest and have opened up negotiations with the pair. While Strettle is 34, Abendanon is still only 31 and is said to be on Eddie Jones’ radar for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. A move back to England would make him once again eligible for selection.
