Hearing.
Details have emerged regarding the fate of both Eben Etzebeth and Alex Mann following their clash over the weekend.
Etzebeth was red-carded for an eye gouge in the final moments of South Africa’s win over Wales on Saturday, with the towering lock set to face a disciplinary hearing today.
Mann, meanwhile, has escaped any punishment, having not been cited for another alleged incident in the game between him and Etzebeth.
World Rugby guidelines state that the low-end entry point for “intentional contact with eye(s)” is 12 weeks, while a mid-range sanction is 18 weeks.
A top-end sanction for a deliberate gouge is upwards of 24 weeks, while the maximum ban available is 208 weeks, or four years.
