Back in business.

They were far from their brilliant best, but Ireland look to be back in business after a much needed bonus-point win over France at the Aviva Stadium in the Six Nations this afternoon.

Tries from captain Rory Best, Johnny Sexton, Jack Conan and Keith Earls ensured maximum points for Joe Schmidt’s men, who will perhaps be a little disappointed to have conceded two tries late on.

Here are your player ratings.

15. Jordan Larmour – 7 

Settled the nerves early with an excellent kick in behind. Almost scored a try too with a mazy run. Good game especially considering he was parachuted in for Rob Kearney late on

14. Keith Earls – 8

His best game of the championship so far. Some excellent breaks and did incredibly well for his try, linking up with CJ Stander in an excellent move off a lineout.

13. Garry Ringrose – 9

Made all the difference in midfield on his return – both in defence and attack. Was very unlucky to not have a try after doing incredibly well to take a high ball and crash over before losing control over the line. Ireland’s best centre by a distance.

12. Bundee Aki – 7 

Another solid performance from the Connacht centre who seems to compliment Ringrose better than anyone else.

11. Jacob Stockdale – 7

A quiet game by his standards. Some uncharacteristic errors, but nothing too costly.

10. Johnny Sexton – 8.5

Some glimpses of the Johnny Sexton we all know and love. The famous ‘wraparound’ play even made a return.

9. Conor Murray – 7

Still a far from his best but getting there. A much improved performance.

1. Cian Healy – 9

Taken off after 50 minutes after giving absolutely everything. A man possessed. Superb game from the loosehead.

2. Rory Best (captain) – 8

Did really well to grab Ireland’s first try with an excellent finish. A fitting farewell for the captain on his final Six Nations home game.

3. Tadhg Furlong – 8

His clean out on Lamby early on set the tone. His best performance of the championship.

4. Iain Henderson – 7

Called the lineout well and made some important carries.

5. James Ryan – 9

An excellent man of the match performance that was made all the sweeter with his ‘spinebuster’ on Antoine Dupont.

6. Peter O’Mahony – 8

The line-out majorly misfired against Italy and in response to that Ireland used O’Mahony as their main jumper, to the extent where it is almost predictable. The saving grace is that he is a joy to throw to, both in terms of his handling ability and the height he reaches.

7. Josh van der Flier – N/A

Replaced after just 20 minutes by Jack Conan after an unfortunate injury.

8. CJ Stander – 9

Our man of the match. An absolute monstrous performance. Carried like a bull. Tackled like a truck. And led from the front. Ireland really missed this man.

Replacements: 7

Conan was excellent when he came on, playing over 60 minutes and scoring a try. Carty took his chance too with an excellent touch finder not long after coming on, while John Cooney also looked sharp.

Another good game for Dave Kilcoyne, who will fancy his chances to continue keeping Jack McGrath out of the squad. Dillane looked lively too when he came on.
