Legislation to halt ticket touting in Ireland is expected to be passed before St Patrick’s Day with tickets to Ireland vs England in this year’s Six Nations being sold online for extortionate prices.
The massive Six Nations opener between the two sides at the Aviva Stadium next week has long been sold-out, with tickets originally being sold for around €150 face value. But a quick glance this week has seen those tickets being sold for €1000 upwards on reseller website Viagogo.
On Friday morning, the highest price apparent on the site was an astronomical €2,032.
The sooner these touts are locked out the better.
