New kid on the block.
Munster got their 2018/19 PRO14 season off to the perfect start in Thomond Park this evening as they dismantled a poor Cheetahs side 38-0 in Limerick.
Darren Sweetnam stole the show in a Man of the Match performance, setting up one try and scoring another in a terrific all-round performance from the Cork native.
New signings Neil Cronin and Arno Botha looked impressive, as did a certain Joey Carbery – who made his debut off the bench in the second-half. The former Leinster playmaker looked sharp, with some lovely touches, linking up well with JJ Hanrahan who switched to fullback when Carbery came on.
Carbery also received a rapturous reception from the Thomond Park faithful who are clearly hugely excited at the prospect of him shining in red this season.
