Battered.
Melbourne Rebels star Amanaki Mafi was arrested over the weekend and will face charges of assault after an incident with teammate Lopeti Timani in New Zealand, Rugby Australia has confirmed.
The altercation occurred following the Rebels’s 43-37 loss to the Highlanders in their Super Rugby fixture in Dunedin on Saturday.
Timani received “moderate injuries” but did not go to hospital according to reports. The statement added that no other players were involved in the incident. But The Daily Telegraph has now printed photos that reveal the attack was pretty brutal.
