Melbourne.
Head coach Joe Schmidt named his Ireland team for Saturday’s second Test with Australia early this morning, and as expected – made sweeping changes.
Johnny Sexton, Garry Ringrose, Dan Leavy, Tadhg Furlong and Devin Toner all come back into the starting line-up, along with Niall Scannell and Andrew Conway. There’s no room in the squad for the likes of Sean Cronin, Jacob Stockdale and Bundee Aki.
But with Sexton coming back in, who will captain the side? Schmidt stated before the series that Peter O’Mahony and Sexton may share the captaincy in Rory Best’s absence, with the Munster man leading them out last week with Sexton starting from the bench.
However, it’s now been confirmed that O’Mahony will indeed continue as skipper and lead the side out again for the 2nd Test. The right man for the job?
