He could be right.
Brian O’Driscoll currently holds the all-time record for Six Nations tries scored. But the former Ireland captain fears his spot at the top could be in danger over the next few years.
O’Driscoll bagged an impressive 27 Six Nations tries while he was playing, four clear of second-placed Shane Williams, and nine clear of the nearest active player, George North, who is in third.
But the former Leinster centre reckons his record won’t be safe for long, with 21-year-old Jacob Stockdale bagging seven tries in his first Six Nations campaign, a tournament record for tries scored in a single championship.
Stockdale has already broken O’Driscoll’s Irish Six Nations record. Will he break his overall record? Don’t bet against it.
