Saracens mean business.

Springbok legend Schalk Burger will join Saracens next season, having signed a two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership club.

Burger, 32, has won 86 caps for South Africa and was part of the squad that reached the semifinals of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The flanker, who is a former IRB world player of the year, has also captained his country and will head to Allianz Park once he has completed spells with Japanese club Suntory Sungoliath and Super Rugby’s Stormers.

“I’m delighted to be joining Saracens. I’m extremely excited to have the opportunity to play in both the Aviva Premiership and the European Cup, two of the leading competitions in world rugby for such a special club,” Burger, South Africa’s record back-row try scorer with 14, said.
