Former Melbourne Rebels and Leinster hooker Tom Sexton is currently on trial with Munster.
Munster have both Kevin O’Byrne and Mike Sherry sidelined at the moment, with Duncan Casey the only fit senior hooker in the squad. Sexton was born in Australia but moved to Ireland when he was just four. He spent five years with Leinster, and was capped eight times by the province.
In 2013, he returned to Australia to join the Melbourne Rebels for the 2014 season but missed the entire season with an ACL injury, making his return to play during the inaugural 2014 National Rugby Championship with The Melbourne Rising. He then made his Super Rugby Debut for the Rebels on the 27 March 2015 against The Hurricanes in Wellington. Sexton went on to earn five caps for the Rebels before moving to the Western Force.
