Huge blow.
Ireland and Leinster Robbie Henshaw likely won’t play again this season after undergoing an operation on his shoulder this week.
The 24-year-old was ruled out of the Six Nations on Monday after picking up the nasty injury in the 56-19 win over Italy at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
But now Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has revealed he is facing 3-4 months out of action.
That would mean a May/June return for the Lions tourist, all but ending his involvement for Leinster this season. It also means he likely won’t tour with Ireland to Australia this summer.
Meanwhile Iain Henderson, James Ryan and Tadhg Furlong are expected to be fit to train next Tuesday. All three players should be fit and ready to go in time for the Wales game in round 3.

Munster’s Chris Farrell is expected to partner Bundee Aki in Henshaw’s absence, with Garry Ringrose not expected to line out for Leinster this weekend as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
