Playmaker.
It’s no secret Bath are in the market for a top quality operator at ten ahead of next season. Rhys Priestland’s contract is up at the end of current campaign, while stalwart Freddie Burns has struggled at times.
Either way a new ten will be arriving Premiership side next season but the question is who? In recent weeks Todd Blackadder’s side have been linked with Wales international Gareth Anscombe and it appears there is interest.
“I can’t confirm or deny,” Blackadder told Somerset Live asked whether the club were interested in signing Anscombe.
Two other names linked are former All Blacks ten Aaron Cruden who currently plies his trade at Montpellier and South African playmaker Handres Pollard. When Blackadder was asked whether he could rule out a move for any of those three he said:
“No. We are a work in progress, I’m sorry to say.”
Interesting developments. Who do you think would be the best fit at Bath?
