This is really worrying.
The Munster Schools Junior Cup meeting between Presentation Brothers College Cork and St Munchin’s, was brought to an abrupt end today after three players from the Limerick side suffered head injuries.
PBC took the lead with two minutes on the clock, before the injuries occurred just ten minutes in the highly anticipated semi-final clash. The game was held up for over an hour, with two of the St.Munchins players taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

Under instructions from referee Paudie Sheehan, the players returned, and when there was no opposition for a scrum, the game was abandoned with Pres, leading 5-0 at the time, being awarded the game. It’s likely that an appeal will be made by St Munchin’s in the hope that the tie can be re-fixed.
