Overtaken.
Wales’ win over England on Saturday not only ended their hopes of a Grand Slam – it also means Gatland’s side will overtake their neighbours in the world rankings come Monday.
Tries from Cory Hill and Josh Adams helped Wales secure a 21-14 win at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, and earned them .75 of a ranking point with England losing the same amount.
France’s bonus-point win over Scotland in Paris will move them up two places in the rankings to eighth in the world, with Les Bleus set to gain 1.69 points.
Ireland’s won’t get any points for their bonus-point win over Italy and will be just 1.62 points ahead of Wales when the updated rankings are released on Monday.
