This is despicable.
Connacht made it two from two today with an impressive 52-7 bonus point win over Italian minnows Zebre. Connacht only led 14-0 at half-time but kicked it up a notch in the second-half and ran out impressive winners in the end.
The talking point of the match however involved Zebre hooker, Oliviero Fabiani, who was sent off in the 30th minute for a disgusting bite on Connacht lock Quinn Roux.
The incident was picked up by the TMO after the match officials spotted Roux throwing a punch in Fabiani’s direction. Once referee Mathieu Raynal saw the incident, he was left with no choice but to send the Italian off.
Fabiani will no doubt be cited for this incident, with a hefty ban waiting for him.
