Maths lesson.
Leinster’s defence of their PRO14 title didn’t get off to the best of starts with the eastern province conceding an early try to Cardiff in their season opener this evening.
An early penalty on top of that saw them trailing 8-0 before Ross Byrne got them back in it with a penalty of his own. Shortly after James Tracy tied things up with a try leaving things at 8-8 at the time of writing.
Shortly before Tracy’s try however, Rhys Ruddock got a lesson in maths from referee Nigel Owens in a classic moment from the Welshman after the Leinster captain complained about a couple of Cardiff infringements inside their 22.
“Do you know many offences (for Cardiff) there has been? Just two” Owens said.
“Do you know how many you’ve given? Four.”
“Let me deal with it please Rhys. Thank you very much.”
