Flattened.
The boot of Benjamin Urdapilleta made the difference as Castres Olympique beat giants Montpellier 29-13 to claim a shock Top 14 title at the Stade de France last night.
Urdapilleta slotted home five penalties and converted tries by Julien Dumora and Steve Mafi handed Castres their first title since 2013.
Montpellier finished the regular season in first, while Castres snuck into the reportage by the skin of their teeth in sixth place. The newly-crowned champions defeated Toulouse and European finalists Racing 92 on the way to the final.
But Vern Cotter’s men never looked like they were going to win yesterday, with a number of their top names failing to inspire. A well-deserved win for Castres in the end, but at least Montpellier and their centre Francois Steyn gave us this hilarious highlight in the build up to Mafi’s try.
