The connection is real.
Munster bid farewell to a legend last Saturday in a game befitting of the legend that was Anthony Foley. The former Munster head coach and captain tragically past away ahead of Munster’s scheduled Champions Cup round 1 clash against Racing 92.
The player’s said there goodbye’s in the most fitting way possible and that was on the rugby pitch, in an inspirational bonus-point win over the Glasgow Warriors in Thomond Park, in a game Axel would have been damn proud of.
The fans on the day were also amazing. The atmosphere was electric, and the goosebumps were flowing. Many chants and songs heard throughout the game in honour of Foley, but none quite as spine-tingling as this rendition of the Fields of Athenry as Munster did their lap in honour of Foley.
