Manu Tuilagi is hoping to play his way back into the England squad before the Six Nations ends.
A certain Eddie Jones was in the crowd last night as Leicester took on Harlequins with Manu Tuilagi making his comeback from his latest setback. Jones definitely took notics when the Samoan smashed Winston Stanley with a massive hit.
A hamstring injury kept Tuilagi out of England’s opening two games but it look like he’s recovered and ready to go. He may be lacking game time considering the lengthy period he missed, but theres no doubting the x-factor that he can bring to any team.
Leicester coach Richard Cockerill however doesn’t think he’s ready and reckons Jones needs to wait.
He’s not ready to play at Test level yet. He’s played one game and still isn’t quite sharp, as you saw. He did some things but needs to be managed properly.
Me and Eddie can have that discussion. If he’s fit, he can play. If he’s not then he won’t. We’ll be sensible about it.
Regardless, let’s just enjoy that hit.
