This is brilliant.
Joe Schmidt is a proud Kiwi, but he was a proud Paddy last night after Ireland’s famous in over the All Blacks. After a 111 year wait Ireland defeated New Zealand for the first time in their history with an emphatic 40-29 win.
In an interview after the game, the Ireland boss spoke about the wonderous victtory, complimenting his player’s performances an also pointing to the fact that the loss of Luke Romano, Brode Retallick and Sam Whitelock was a huge factor that swung the game in Ireland’s favour.
If you watch until the end however, Schmidt brilliantly apologises to his mother, an All Blacks fan, for Ireland’s historic victory. Something tells us Mrs. Schmidt will forgive her son. What a day, what a victory.
