Paul O’Connell’s Ireland career is over. No matter how many times you say it, it’s still hard to believe.
A devastating hamstring injury has called a curtain on the locks international career and it looks like the big man is finding it as hard as the rest of Ireland to come to terms with it.
No news yet on whether or not O’Connell will stay on for support in a similar role to that of the 2009 British & Irish Lions tour. No doubt he will be welcomed with open arms.
