Darren Sweetnam can do no wrong at the moment.
The former Cork GAA player has flourished this season since coming into the Munster team, the only player in the squad to have played all of their games this season. The skilful winger has been truly excellent under the high ball and has finished off some beautiful tries.
His form has been rewarded by Joe Schmidt, after being called up to the Ireland training camp this week, with a debut for his country imminent. He didn’t make the squad for tonight’s game with Canada but Munster fans will be delighted he was released to play last night after he scored this wondrous try.
The Cork native picked up on a loose ball and got a boot behind in, leading to an almighty chase, showing buckets of pace and excellent footballing skills before finishing in the corner. A truly special try, on a truly memorable night.
The future is bright for the former GAA man.
