Who gets your pick?
Brian O’Driscoll and Austin Healey engaged in a lively debate on Rugby Tonight last night that made for some really interesting viewing.
The former Lions teammates both made some interesting points, especially regarding the coveted outhalf spot in the Test team. Healey believed that the role should go to England’s Owen Farrell.
Healey in fairness to him made a valid point about Sexton’s questionable fitness.
How much cotton wool are they going to have to put around this guy [Sexton] to get him to the third Test?
O’Driscoll however thinks the opportunity to partner Sexton and Farrell alongside each other is an opportunity not to be missed.
When you have the passing qualities of Farrell, he’s definitely going to be in your team as well, so that combination of the two – they’re so alike, I saw them having such a go at one an other at the weekend – but I know they’d really enjoy playing with one and other because they’ve the same personalities.
The former Ireland and Lions captain silenced Healy in the end with his argument, with Sexton retaining the outhalf spot in their starting XV.
Healey also interestingly believes that Peter O’Mahony could even sneak his way into the starting line-up due to his lineout prowess. Check it out below, really interesting watch.
