Clean sweep.
Munster’s inaugural tour of South Africa has been a huge success, after the southern province made it two wins from two last night when they edged the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
They may have made light work of the Kings last weekend, but things were very different last night. The Cheetahs have been the surprise package in this year’s PRO14, and could very nearly have won it, only for one man.
Conor Murray started the game on the bench, but was drafted in earlier than expected after James Hart picked up an injury. 30 seconds after coming on he had a try, but the best was yet to come.
With Munster trailing by a point, and just fifteen minutes on the clock, Murray stepped up to sink a penalty from all of 57m, a score that ended up deciding the game. Absolutely world class.
