Smashed.

Things didn’t exactly go according to plan for Ireland this past weekend, as they fell to a crushing 32-20 defeat at the hands of old rivals England at the Aviva Stadium, ending all hopes of a second consecutive Grand Slam.

A number of Ireland’s top players simply didn’t show up on the day, with England’s intensity and physicality getting the better of Schmidt’s men in the end. It was a disappointing showing for the number two ranked team in the world, who now must dust themselves down and go again this weekend against Scotland.

One player who can hold his head high however, is centre Garry Ringrose, who was one of Ireland’s few bright sparks. The Leinster man looked dangerous with ball in hand and did a superb job in defence.
