Isa Nacewa take a bow.
Leinster are the first team in the hat for the knockout stages of the Champions Cup after a flawless performance tonight in the RDS, as they ran out 57-3 winners over a hapless Montpellier side.
This time last year they were long knocked out, yet they head into next week’s final pool stage game with Castres, looking likely to be one of four teams to secure an all-important home quarter final.
The French side were forced to play with 14 men for most of the game after Francois Steyn was shown a deserved red card for a high tackle on Johnny Sexton after 27 minutes, irregardless there was always going to be one winner, with the hosts already leading 14-3 at that stage.
Leinster bagged a whopping eight tries, but the pick of the lot was as a result of a simply sublime chip and pass by fullback Isa Nacewa. The captain made a break down the left wing, before chipping, catching, and offloading to Jack Conan who dotted down for Leinster’s second try.
