This is a tough one.
Ireland’s November series didn’t go too bad. Three from four including a first win over world champions, the All Blacks and a win over finalists Australia leaves Joe Schmidt’s men in a very promising position heading into the 2017 RBS Six Nations.
Schmidt seems to finally have achieved his goal of having a squad with real strength in depth, boasting 2-3 really talented players in almost every position. The emergence of young stars such as Tadhg Furlong, Josh van der Flier, Ultan Dillane and Gary Ringrose has Ireland’s future looking really bright.
Established players like Donnacha Ryan, Sean O’Brien, Iain Henderson, Peter O’Mahony and Cian Healy have all also returned to the international fold after a series of injuries, leaving Schmidt with a hell of a squad to choose from.
The question remains however. Who was Ireland’s best player during this year’s November series? It’s a tough one.
