Thank you sir.
Ireland looked much improved in their bonus-point win against France yesterday afternoon – much more like the Ireland we all know and love, and how fitting they found form on a special day for their legendary head coach.
Yesterday was Joe Schmidt’s final home Six Nations in charge of Ireland as be gets set to say goodbye after the Rugby World Cup in Japan later this year. And the boss was delighted with his players’ performance.
“There was so much good in it.” Schmidt said.
And when asked will he miss Six Nations games at the Aviva, a visibly emotional Schmidt said:
“Immensely, immensely,”
“It’s been six incredible years for me. I’ll miss it.”
"Last time we were at home here we didn't do ourselves justice and we didn't give the crowd what they normally get here"
