Sonny Bill Williams said after the World Cup final that he had seen a security guard ‘smoke’ a young fan with a tackle right in front of him.
Feeling empathy with the young fan – who was clearly exuberant that his country had just won the World Cup – Williams presented him with his winner’s medal.
Footage of the incident has since emerged, thanks to ALMA Rugby on YouTube.
It’s a totally excessive reaction from the security guard.
