Connacht issue update on Mack Hansen and it’s not a good one

Sidelined.

Connacht Rugby have issued an update on Mack Hansen’s fitness, and it’s not a good one.

Hansen was forced to undergo surgery on his foot last week to address an issue that’s been bothering him since last summer’s British and Irish Lions tour.

He returned to action in November, starting at fullback against Australia and South Africa, but he was forced off late on in the latter.

And it now looks like he’s gonna be a major doubt for the Six Nations in February after Connacht coach Cullie Tucker confirmed that he looks set to be out for “months” while he recovers.

“Yes, surgery went well. It was obviously an unusual and invasive surgery for him,” said Tucker.

“He’s in the very early parts of recovery now. In terms of timeline, I’m not exactly sure, but you’re talking months for sure.

“It is very early stages after it, but he’s out and he’s at home recovering at the moment.”

Wishing Mack all the best in his recovery.
