Treviso have announced the signing of Marty Banks from the Super Rugby champions, the Highlanders.
Banks, who joined the Super Rugby champions in 2015, can slot in at both outhalf or fullback. Banks will see out his contract with ITM Cup side, Tasman, will arrive at Treviso ahead of next season.
The versatile back came on as a replacement in last year’s Super Rugby final for the Super Rugby franchise, and landed a 78th minute drop goal that extended the Highlanders’ lead to seven points and an ultimate victory.
A delighted Banks expressed his excitement at the new challenge and also hopes to add lots of value to the Italian side.
“When I heard that Treviso was interested in me was really exciting, they immediately made me feel part of the club,” Banks told the Treviso official website.
“I cannot wait to start my new adventure. I hope my presence in the squad will not only make an impact but also assist to the team to achieve its goals.”
