Drew Mitchell could be set for a sensational return to the Waratahs next season.
The 71 test veteran’s Toulon contract is set to expire at the end of the season, with the winger widely expected to leave the Top 14 side. His move could free up a spot in the French giants team for Rugby League star Semi Radradra
The Sunday Telegraph are reporting that contact has been made between Australian officials and Mitchell with the intention of having him return to Super Rugby side the New South Wales Waratahs.
It’s understood Radradra, who is facing domestic violence charges and is due to reappear in court on February 13 and has had to surrender his passport, has not signed a contract with Toulon, despite their owner’s claims.
If Mitchell left Toulon, a hole would be created for Radradra’s possible arrival midway through next year. There is also speculation suggesting Mitchell’s teammate Matt Giteau could leave Toulon to take up a lucrative offer in Japanese rugby next year.
