Toulon are set to appoint for La Rochelle boss Patrice Collazo as their new head coach today according to reports in France.
Owner Mourad Boudjellal has clearly decided he’s had enough of current boss Fabien Galthie after a disappointing season, although he could remain on in an assistant role with the three-time European Champions.
Collazo’s appointment will be Toulon’s fifth new head coach in just 21 months. Diego Dominguez, Mike Ford and Richard Cockerill, along with Galthie have all had a go a taking charge of the French giants in that period.
Toulon were knocked out of the Top 14 at the reportage (quarter-final) stage this season by Lyon, and also exited the Champions Cup at the quarter final stage to Munster in Thomond Park.
*UPDATE*
Collazo has been officially confirmed as Toulon’s new head coach with Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe and Sébastien Tillous-Borde also joining their coaching ticket.
