Not good.
Sean O’Brien is a doubt for Ireland’s Six Nations opener with France in Paris next month, after being left out of Leinster’s team to face Glasgow next month.
The Ireland international missed the recent inter-pro wins over Munster, Connacht and Ulster with a tightness in the hip, but it had been hoped he would return in time for the final two pool games of the Champions Cup.
He has now been ruled out of both of those pool games, with Leinster stating he hasn’t responded to treatment as they would have liked
“Seán O’Brien saw a specialist this week for the tightness in his hip as it hadn’t responded to treatment as we would have liked,” the province confirmed.
“As a result he had a small procedure and the target is to have O’Brien back available during the 6 Nations window.”
Leinster head coach Leo Cullen will speak to the media at lunchtime where we hope to learn more.
