It’s been a while.
Saracens scrumhalf Richard Wigglesworth starts for England this weekend, ten years after he last started a Six Nations game for his country.
With Ben Youngs out with a long-term injury, the 34-year-old has been given the nod over Harlequins scrumhalf Danny Care. And will be partnered at halfback by his club teammate Owen Farrell.
Interestingly that last start for Wigglesworth came agains this weekend’s opponents Ireland. BT Sport commentator Nick Mullins has been doing a bit of digging, and manage to uncover the line-up from that game back in 2008.
Wiggleworth was partnered at halfback on Danny Cipriani on the day, with the likes of Lesley Vainikolo, Jamie Noon and Paul Sackey in the England backline. Ireland meanwhile fielded a centre partnership of Andrew Trimble and Shane Horgan!
