It’s almost time.
The Six Nations gets underway tomorrow with Europe’s finest set to go head-to-head to be crowned 2017 champions. England head into the tournament as favourites after securing a Grand Slam last year, and completing the perfect season.
Ireland however have been in excellent form of late and should it come down to it, host England in Dublin for the final round. Most people forecast this to be a winner take all game, and we tend to agree.
The lads over at Betway have crunched the numbers ahead of this year’s spectacle and it seems that home advantage, will be enough for Ireland. According to the ‘Betway Machine,’ Ireland will be crowned Grand Slam champions
It’s not just guess work as you can see in the explanation below.
Using its unique formula of combining historical head-to-head records with patterns in performance data, we are not only going to predict the results of individual matches, but attempt to calculate the outcome of the entire tournament itself.
Of course, form, injuries and pressure mean that there will always be a human side to rugby that can never be quantified.
But, even taking those into account, we still think that the Machine’s tried and trusted methods look like they could be spot on yet again…
Here’s the results…
What do you think? Will they be proven right come March?
