Stade Francais teenager Nicolas Chauvin has tragically passed away after suffering a serious injury in an academy match over the weekend.
The nineteen-year-old was hurt early on during Stade’s clash with Bordeaux Begles and was forced to undergo emergency surgery on a fractured neck. But unfortunately it was confirmed yesterday that he died in hospital after suffering “cervical trauma that resulted in cardiac arrest and cerebral anoxia”.
A statement from Stade Francais read:
“It is with immense sadness that Stade Francais Paris shares the death of Nicolas Chauvin.”
“All our thoughts go to Nicolas’ family.”
