Disgusting.
So the votes are in and it will be France who will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup with Ireland and South Africa missing out.
The Irish were dumped out in the first round, with France comfortably beating off competition from South Africa in the second by 24 votes to just 15.
The reaction online understandably has been furious for a variety of reasons. The fact that World Rugby’s technical review was ignored after an exhausting process, along with Ireland been given no chance has upset many.
But at the end of the day, a decision has been made and we must all now get behind France, who we know can put on a hell of a tournament. The Irish and South Africans are disappointed, but it’s not the end of the world.
One South African journalise however, has reacted in the most despicable of manners, with this simply disgusting tweet (since deleted). He has since apologised, but the damage is already well and truly done.
The tweet reads:
“France is hell (sic) of a greedy country. Hope those terror attacks can struck again (sic) and demolish all those stadiums.”
Here we go. The tweet was deleted. SA sports journalist wishing death on hundreds of thousands of people because of a game. @AyandaFelemZA I would issue an apology. pic.twitter.com/hkJKmN26jc
