Back in action.
When news broke last week that Conor Murray was suffering with an injury problem – Munster fans were understandably extremely worried.
The scrumhalf’s injury remains a mystery with very little info released. All we know is he had been suffering with what appears to be a neck/shoulder problem, with many speculating it’s a reoccurrence of the infamous ‘stinger’ he picked up during the 2016/17 season that kept him out for several weeks.
It also proved to be serious enough to force Munster to bring in a temporary replacement. Head coach Johann van Graan was asked about the injury following Munster’s 38-0 win over the Cheetahs on Saturday, with information keep to the bare minimum.
“I can’t comment on Conor’s injury, I wasn’t in a position to comment on it on Monday. He’s got an injury and it’s positive, but we just have to take it day by day,” said van Graan.
Well it turns out the South African was telling the truth in terms of the injury being positive, because Murray posted on Instagram today a photo of him back in action.
And on another positive note, it looks like South Africa flanker Chris Cloete is also nearing a return to action. The openside suffered a horrific arm injury last season that has kept him out for several months after bursting on the scene initially with some incredible form.
A potentially massive boost for a Munster team who already look really strong this season.
