Shocking.
High tackles have dominated the Rugby World Cup so far with a number of controversial decisions leaving us all very confused.
Reece Hodge’s hit on Peceli Yato has dominated headlines with the Australian being cited yesterday, while Paul Williams has been applauded for his handling of a thumping hit on England’s Anthony Watson.
But referee Romain Poite will hardly be getting any plaudits for his handling of these two monster hits by Samoa against Russia. The Frenchman handed out two yellow cards as he felt the mitigating factor in both cases was that the ball-carrier was falling (with help from the TMO).
Have a look for yourself below. Two red cards if you ask us. Poite absolutely bottles it.
28 Yellow Card!
Is Rey Lee-Lo lucky that it is not red? The ball carrier dipping slightly is the big mitigating factor.
